This course provides competence for those who implement the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and carry out a suitable and sufficient risk assessment of typical manual handling activities.
Who the Course is For
This 1-day course is aimed primarily at individuals in industry and business who have the responsibility to implement the new regulations and to train/instruct others in their compliance with the legislation.
On successful completion of the course the delegate will be able to -
- Understand the legal requirements relating to manual handling risk assessments.
- Understand both the importance of avoiding the need for hazardous manual handling activities wherever possible, and how to achieve this.
- Identify hazards (risk factors) relating to manual handling activities, and make recommendations to reduce the risk of injury arising from them and control them.
Develop systems and procedures for carrying out and recording manual handling risk assessment
The course content, including practical assessments, syndicate exercises and video presentations, will relate directly to systems of manual handling operations. Delegates will also undertake arranged workplace exercises.
On successful completion of this course the delegate will receive a Caspian Safe Certificate.
