Who the Course is For This training workshop is designed to meet the specific needs of staff who have responsibility for health and safety in a warehouse environment. It aims to provide delegates with appropriate guidance on how to mange various aspects of health and safety in the warehouse workplace.

Course Content
The workshop will focus on the main health and safety regulations applicable to warehouses including
• Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
• Manual Handling Operations 1992
• COSHH Regulations 1999
• The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992

The day to day procedures necessary in warehouses to ensure safe working practices will be looked at.

The workshop will address the principles of risk Assessment and the implementation of systems to ensure that the maintenance of the workplace equipment and environment is dealt with effectively.

Particular attention will be paid to manual handling operations, currently a major cause of accidents in warehouses, with suggested procedures for the safe handling of loads and reducing the risk of injury.

The safe storage and handling of hazardous substances will also be addressed.
