Target Audience: Anyone within Industry, who will, as part of their job, be required to drive and operate a forklift truck, to safely move, stack and de-stack loads, under control and to wear and use the correct PPE as required.

Course Objectives:
Legislation: HASAW Act '74; PUWER '98; L117; HSG 6 and associated Regulations, European Directives and Company specific Safety Rules.
• Understands the components of the forklift truck
• Understands the principles of stability
• Is able to carry out pre-start safety checks
• Is able to maneuver the forklift through an obstacle course, forwards and in reverse, both empty and loaded.
• Is able to stack and de-stack loads at low, intermediate and high levels in a safe and proper manner
• Is able to correctly re-fuel or recharge the forklift and follow all recommended safety procedures and to use correct PPE
